Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Helped This Avid Biker Get Back on the Road
Marlene and Bill Olson are avid bikers, hunters, travelers and campers that upon retirement enjoyed life to the fullest with extraordinarily active lifestyles. Until just recently.
Marlene and Bill Olson were in a traumatic motorcycle accident in September, 2010. Bill escaped with minor injuries, but Marlene suffered traumatic crush injury to her left ankle and leg that required surgery to stabilize her leg with multiple screws and plates. After the surgery, considerable swelling occurred and infection was a concern. Marlene’s best option for this type of injury was Hyperbaric Oxygen, because the aggressive and intense internal healing properties are a saving treatment for severe crush wounds. After 20 treatments in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber as well as tissue patches – Marlene’s wounds are completely healed.
