The Finley Hospital |
Acute medical needs can be complex and frightening. Illness may develop quickly or be chronic in nature. At The Finley Hospital, the Medicine Service Line groups services designed to meet the medical patient's needs. The fifth floor patient types of patients are many and varied, including Cardiac, Respiratory, Renal, Gastrointestinal, Metabolic Disorders and Infectious Disease. Cardiac monitoring services are available. Our objective is to provide an environment conducive to healing and supportive of each patient's physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The 3-Medical Unit also has inpatient dialysis. The dialysis space provides Tri-State Dialysis staff convenient access to nursing and support personnel. The units are located on both fourth and fifth floor. Medical/Surgical Service line is a new integrated model of nursing care. The Finley Hospital has created an all private room model of care which allows acute inpatients and post surgical patients to be the same care area, while allowingfor patient privacy and the majority of services to be provided at the bedside. In cases where specialized care is necessary, staff are taken to the patient rather than moving the patient to another unit. Attempts are made to cohost (group) like patient types, for example orthopedics on fourth floor to save steps for both physicians and staff. Additional private rooms are available on five north as needed to meet the needs of patient census. Private pediatric rooms with trained pediatric nurses are included in our med/surg services. Accomidations are available for parents to stay with their child if desired. |
