The Finley Hospital |
Public & Patient Entrances
- Main Entrance
January, 2009 - The Finley Private Patient room addition has moved into the interior finish stage. Throughout the spring months of 2009 electrical, mechanical and plumbing ruff-in work will take place. This summer and into the fall finish work for walls, ceilings, floors, electrical, mechanical and plumbing will be ongoing. By fall and early winter the construction part of the project will be wrapped up and the furniture and equipment will be put in place for patient occupancy. The project is still on schedule to be completed and ready for occupancy by Christmas of 2009. August 18, 2008 - The Finley Hospital is now at the half-way point of phase one, which is the construction of the external shell of the new addition. The progress includes the completion of the concrete extension to stairwells and all the concrete shear walls. The next and final concrete work will be to pour the concrete deck for the fifth floor. The steel super structure is scheduled to be completed by the end of August while the exterior stud framing is scheduled to begin to attach the exterior brick, windows and drywall. Masonry/brick work is scheduled to begin the week of September 8, with window installation to follow by the end of September. The outer shell of the new addition is scheduled to be completed by November 21, 2008. The entire project is scheduled for completion in December of 2009. A very important component of this building project is the LEED (Leadership in Engineering and Environmental Design) commissioning process for the new addition. The Finley Hospital has retained the services of Questions and Solutions Engineering (QSE) to review the interior package plans consult throughtout the entire building process and conduct final testing of equipment. When complete, QSE will provide the documentation necessary to receive LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Effective July 8, 2008 until August 1, 2008 OPCU Department is located in a temporary location at the Babka Outpatient Surgery on 2nd floor (POD F and Counseling room). The Departments involved are Pain Clinic, Wound Clinic, Pacemaker Clinic and Outpatient Infusion Service. If you have questions check at the Admitting Desk or call: 557-2894. On Thursday, May 29, there was a large vacuum truck set up in the construction zone to vacuum up the rock ballast on the roof in the addition area. This did not impact traffic; however there was noise and dust. On Wednesday, May 28, the construction crew moved the cooling tower that was in the addition area to an area to the south. This requiree the closing of the Northwest entrance to the parking ramp. Work was scheduled to start at 6:00 a.m. and was complete by mid afternoon. Access in and out of the parking ramp was from the 3rd St. entrance during that time. The parking lot in front of the 300 and 310/320 buildings was open to patients who were scheduled to be at the hospital or one of the office buildings on Wednesday. On Tuesday, May 20, and Wednesday, May 21, the construction crew reduced passage in the skills lab, Respiratory Therapy and Outpatient Care Unit on the third floor as part of the process to relocate the cooling tower that is currently in the area of the new construction. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we start this exciting phase in Finley's history.
