Meet the Team
Roger Shafer, M.D., a geriatric psychiatrist, serves as the medical director of The Summit Health Center for Older Adults at The Finley Hospital. Dr. Shafer specializes in the treatment of dementia with behavioral disturbances and major depression.
Dr. Shafer is a graduate of Drake University. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa and completed his residency at UCLA. In 2002, the American Psychiatric Association awarded him a distinguished life fellowship.
Since the year 2000, Dr. Shafer has focused his practice on the treatment of older adults at the The Finley Hospital. Dr. Shafer and the ARNP go to 11 nursing homes to better manage patient care mental health issues.
