Finley Catheterization Lab Approved
05/23/2012
The Finley Hospital has been granted approval from the State Health Facilities Council to establish a cardiac catheterization lab by unanimous vote. This decision was made today at a Certificate of Need Hearing held at the Iowa Laboratory Facility Conference Center in Ankeny, Iowa.
“This is an exciting time for Dubuque and the tri-state region” stated David Brandon, Finley Hospital CEO. “Establishing the Finley Heart and Vascular Center and supporting this center with a catheterization lab is an intrinsic step to improve the heart health in the tri-state and to keep Dubuque area patients in our community for their heart care.”
The Finley Heart and Vascular Center, led by cardiovascular specialist, Tauseef Khan, MD, opened at the Finley Hospital in April, 2012, and is accepting a full schedule of appointments. The catheterization lab will provide the opportunity to assess patient heart health and to perform treatments. An official date for the catheterization lab to be open to for use is yet to be determined, but significant plans are in place for a prompt development of the lab.
