SHIIP Education Session at Finley

Every October Medicare prescription drug plans (Part D) announce changes to their premium, co-payments and the drugs they’ll cover for the next year. It’s important that Dubuque area residents on Medicare stay on top of these changes.

The Finley Hospital and the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) are offering area residents the opportunity for a Part D Check-Up on Friday, November 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Finley Hospital Auditorium.

SHIIP counselors will be available at Finley to help individuals compare 2010 Part D plans to their current coverage. They can also help anyone who wants to enroll in a Medicare Part D plan for the first time. Information will also be available for anyone who wishes to apply for extra help with their Medicare drug costs.

If you would like to have a Part D check-up on November 20, call 800-351-4664 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are required. You will need to bring along your Medicare card, current Part D plan card (if you have one), and a list of your prescriptions from your pharmacist.
